Committed to continuous improvement and to unconditional customer and employee satisfaction, Çelebi Tourism (Çe-Tur) was awarded a European Foundation for Quality Management Commitment to Excellence Certificate at the National Quality Award Ceremony held during the 18th Quality Congress. Çe-Tur is the first member of the Turkish tourism industry to receive such an award.
The certificate, which is granted jointly by the Quality Association of Turkey (KalDer) and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), is also the first such award made to a company involved in the businesses of personnel transport and motor vehicle leasing in Turkey as well.
At the ceremony, which took place at the Lütfi Kırdar International Convention & Exhibition Center in İstanbul on 18 November 2009, Çe-Tur's general manager Suat Sarı accepted the “European Foundation for Quality Management Commitment to Excellence Certificate” on behalf of the company. Speaking on the occasion about Çe-Tur's knowledge and experience of the EFQM Excellence Model, Mr Sarı said that his company would continue supporting the National Quality Movement in the future as well. Mr Sarı also noted that Çe-Tur strove to serve as a leader and model in the sector through the synergies that it generated in tandem with other companies in the Çelebi Group.
Maintaining an attitude of corporate excellence in line with today's dynamic approaches to quality and management, Çe-Tur signed the KalDer Letter of Intent in January 2009 and began implementing the EFQM Excellence Model. Having joined the National Quality Movement in this way, Çe-Tur set about successfully completing the requirements for certification. As a result of an on-location audit and assessment conducted by KalDer the same year, Çe-Tur received full marks. The company's efforts to achieve excellence in quality were acknowledged with the award of its “EFQM Commitment to Excellence Certificate” in November 2009.
